DOCTORAL PROGRAM (PhD) "INFORMATION SYSTEM AND PROCESS"

From January 2020, the department "ISE" participated in the project "Development of PhD and research potential in Kyrgyzstan/DERECKA".

The main goal of the project is to create a close connection between science and production, to strengthen the research and innovation potential in Kyrgyzstan and to form innovative scientific research in Kyrgyzstan.

Tasks of the project: modernization of existing PhD programs and development of new PhD programs corresponding to EU standards, improvement of research competencies of teaching staff and formation of innovative scientific research in Kyrgyzstan, improvement of administration of PhD programs, promotion of PhD culture among academic circles, stakeholders and society in Kyrgyzstan.

The implementation period of the project is from 15.01.2020 to 14.01.2023, the maximum grant contribution of Erasmus + to the project for the contractual period covered by the Grant Agreement is 998,655 euros.

The project consortium included 4 EU universities with extensive experience in research methodology and conducting PhD research, as well as 7 universities in Kyrgyzstan. The partner universities of Kyrgyzstan are recognized as the nucleus of an active working network, created during cooperation, started within the framework of the project, piloted by the Ministry of Education and Science of Kyrgyzstan on the implementation of the first PhD programs.

Partner from Kyrgyzstan: International University of Kyrgyzstan, International Higher School of Medicine, Kyrgyz State Technical University named after I. Razzakova, Kyrgyz State University of Construction, Transport and Architecture. N. Isanova, Diplomatic Academy of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Kyrgyz Republic. K. Dikambaeva, Kyrgyz National Agrarian University, Osh State University.

Foreign partners: Brunel University in London (Great Britain), Hamburg University of Applied Sciences (Germany), ECM space technologies GmbH (Germany), Gediminas Vilnius Technical University (Lithuania).

As part of the implementation of the project "Development of doctoral studies and research potential in Kyrgyzstan/DERECKA", work on the development of a new educational program for doctoral studies in the direction of PhD, corresponding to EU standards, was carried out at the "ISE" department:

  • 710100 Computer and information technologies, Educational program "Information systems and processes";

The main feature of the doctoral program is to provide an optimal balance between education and research activities, and to receive extensive scientific, educational and methodological training.

Organization of training in doctoral studies PhD. Doctorate PhD is a post-graduate professional scientific and educational program that provides integration of educational activities and scientific researches, which prepares a highly qualified specialist with the award of a public defense dissertation qualification of Doctor of Philosophy/Doctor of Profile (PhD).

PhD education is full-time, the use of distance educational technologies is allowed, the duration of the study is 3 years, upon successful completion of the doctoral program and the defense of the doctoral thesis, the doctoral student is awarded the academic degree of Doctor of Philosophy/Doctor by Profile (PhD).

The total workload of educational programs is 180 credits, of which 45 credits are allocated to theoretical training, that is, the study of academic disciplines. The workload of research work is 135 credits, including practice and/or internships for various purposes, as well as all types of certifications, including public defense dissertation PhD.

Mandatory requirements for the training program include:

- the doctoral student is obliged to publish at least two scientific articles, reflecting the scientific results of the dissertation research, in scientific publications with a non-zero impact factor, indexed by the international systems WEB of Science and Scopus;

- a doctoral student must undergo a foreign research internship or internship for one month during his studies.

In the process of training, doctoral students are allowed an individual study plan. Research work (NIR) is certified once a year by the doctoral student according to the curriculum. The schedule of NIR is indicated in the individual plan of the doctoral student.

A university or a scientific institution provides the doctoral student with the scientific guidance of two scientific supervisors with the degree or lower doctorate (PhD)/doctoral profile, one of whom must be a student from a foreign university. Scientific guidance can be carried out using distance educational technologies. The professional competence of the scientific supervisor is confirmed by at least two scientific publications for the last five years, in foreign and domestic scientific publications with a non-zero impact factor, indexed in the WEB of Science and Scopus databases, and speeches at authoritative scientific forums.

In case of absence of foreign academic supervisors in the profile, scientific guidance can be carried out by one academic supervisor - a specialist of the relevant profile, who has experience working in a foreign university and actively works in the relevant field of science.

The educational program "Information systems and processes" includes research and development in the field of theoretical, technical, software, informational, linguistic aspects of ensuring the functioning of systems and implementing the processes of generation, collection, storage, processing, search, transmission, presentation and reproduction of information.
