History of the Higher School of Economics and Business
The Graduate School of Economics and Business of the I. Razzakov Kyrgyz State Technical University was established on the basis of two institutes: the Institute of "Economics and Management" (from the N. Isanov KSUCTA) and the "Engineering-Economics" Faculty (from the I. Razzakov KSTU). These two units trace their origins back to 1968, when the Frunze Polytechnic Institute (FPI) decided to begin training industrial engineers and economists specializing in industry and construction.
In 1992, at the Kyrgyz Architectural and Construction Institute, and based on an order from the National Entrepreneurship Foundation of the Kyrgyz Republic, the Commercial Faculty (CF) was established on the basis of the "Economics and Construction Management" Department. Its purpose was to train highly qualified personnel in the field of economics and management. Subsequently, the CF was renamed the "Faculty of Economics and Management" (FEM) and became part of the Institute of Construction, Economics, and Management (ICE&M).
In August 2017, to enhance its specialized focus and deepen its specialization, the FEM was separated from KSUCTA and became an independent structure. As a result, the Kyrgyz-Chinese International Institute of Economics and Management (KCIIEM) was created on the basis of the FEM. In August 2018, it was renamed the Institute of Economics and Management (IEM).
The Engineering-Economics Faculty (hereinafter referred to as EEF) was the successor to the Institute of Management and Business (hereinafter referred to as IMB), which was established in 1996 on the basis of the "Business and Management" Faculty. In 2016, as part of the university's specialization, the Institute of Management and Business was renamed the "Engineering-Economics" Faculty.
