REPORT ON EVENTS HELD DURING SCIENCE WEEK
November 4-11, 2024
As part of the events dedicated to Science Week 2024 on the theme "Scientific Transformation of Modernity: Innovation as a Key Factor in Scientific and Technical Progress," held at KSTU named after I. Razzakov, the following activities were organized by various departments.
1. Guest Lecture at the Department of Management

2. Open Lesson at the Department of Metrology and Standardization

Summary:
T.L. Shalabay discussed the latest advancements in metrology and standardization, highlighting features of the new version of the standard on units of measurement introduced on September 30, 2024, and the draft law on standardization of the Kyrgyz Republic. Students showed particular interest in the new definition of the SI system through physical constants and the addition of multiples and submultiples up to factors of 10⁻³⁰ (the prefix "quecto"), confirming the extensive development of nanotechnology.
Students from group SSMb-1-24 delivered presentations on:
"The Standard of Light" – Shekerbekova A.
"The Standard of Time" – Oyozbekova A.
"The Standard of Length" – Sakhtaganova N.
Second-year students from group SMb-1-23 (Smanova A., Arabaeva E., Toktogulova A.) presented on standardization in China and international organizations such as the IEC and ITU. Achievements in telecommunications and the work of the International Telecommunication Union (ITU) sparked particular interest.
Associate Professor Zhumaev T.Zh. and Senior Lecturer Dushenova M.A. participated in discussions and noted the high level of the lesson and student engagement.
3. Essay Competition at the Department of Finance, Analysis and Accounting
Department: Finance, Analysis and Accounting (FAA)
Dates: November 4-11, 2024
Event: Essay Competition for 3rd-4th year students and 1st-2nd year Master's students on the theme: "The Impact of the Interrelation of Science and Education on Innovative Economic Development"
Purpose: To draw students' attention to the problems and prospects of education and science, and to allow them to freely and creatively express their viewpoints.
Evaluation Criteria: The expert commission assessed originality, literacy, completeness of theme exploration, logical flow, creative approach, stylistic correctness, and the presence of a well-argued personal position.
Total Essays Submitted: 19
Winners:
1st Place: Aktarbekova Ayana (Group BUA-1-21)
2nd Place: Zholdoshbek uulu Almaz (Group FK-1-21)
3rd Place: Tutasheva Akbermet (Group FKm-1-23)
Notable Works: Essays by Sansyz kyzy Ayperi (UAUm-1-24), Bolotbek kyzy Saltanat (UAUm-1-24), Abdyrazakova Damira (FK-1-21), Tuzabaeva Aidana (FK-1-21), and Mamatsaliev Argen (BUA-1-22) were also recognized.
Awards: Winners received Diplomas of the 1st, 2nd, and 3rd degrees and memorable gifts. Other participants were awarded Certificates of Participation.
Conclusion: This was the first event of its kind organized by the FAA Department, aimed at developing creative thinking among students. The department plans to organize similar events in a broader format, involving students from other HSEB specialties.
4. Scientific Seminar at the Department of Economics and Enterprise Management

Event: Scientific Seminar for HSEB Faculty on "Planning, Development, and Promotion of Scientific Contract-Based Projects, State-Budget Funded Research, and Internally Funded Scientific Projects"
Attendees: HSEB Directorate, faculty from the Departments of EEM, FAA, and EBM.
Summary:
Head of the EEM Department, Doctor of Economic Sciences, Professor Sulaimanova B.Zh., presented on the main requirements for scientific research and the differences between contract-based projects and internally funded scientific projects. Participants discussed questions regarding increasing faculty participation in scientific contract-based projects, state-budget funded research, and projects commissioned by the Ministry of Education and Science of the Kyrgyz Republic.
5. Master Class at the Department of Information Systems in Economics

Event: Master Class on "Building a Career in Data Analytics" for 2nd-3rd year students
Organizers: Faculty members Abdrasakova A.B., Abdieva S.K., Iskenderova M.Zh., and others, under the guidance of Head of Department, Candidate of Physical and Mathematical Sciences Zhaparov M.T.
Speakers:
Daechuk Pak, a volunteer professor from the Korea Research Center, delivered a report on "Data Analytics."
Students actively participated with presentations:
"Huawei Seeds for the Future" – Asangazieva Khatizha, Amankulova Ayana, Almazbekov Kutman (Group IST-2-22)
"Prospects for the Development of IT Specialties" – Almazbekova Altynai (Group IST-22(23)), and others.
Outcome: The meeting was successful, with active student participation.
