Brief History of
«The Department of Humanities and Natural Sciences»
The Department of Humanities and Natural Sciences has a rich history of development. In 1997, by Order No. 3/779 of the Rector of Kyrgyz Technical University (KTU), the Department of Natural and General Technical Disciplines (NGTD) was established at the Tokmok Daytime Faculty (TDF). Associate Professor Tölogönöv K.T. was appointed as the first head of the department.
At the time of its establishment, the academic staff consisted of 2 professors: Asanbaeva D.A. and Dzhaparov R.D.; 4 associate professors: Tölogönöv K.T., Kudabaev K.K., Aitkulov M.A., and Osmonkulov D.S.; 2 senior lecturers and 10 lecturers.
In 1999, Professor Dzhaparov R.D. was elected as a corresponding member of the Engineering Academy of the Kyrgyz Republic, and Associate Professors Tölogönöv K.T. and Kudabaev K.K. were also elected as members.
In 1999, the Department of Natural and General Technical Disciplines was divided into two departments: the Department of Fundamental and Natural Sciences (DFNS) and the Department of General Technical Disciplines (DGTD). From 2001, the Department of Fundamental and Natural Sciences was headed by Professor Dzhaparov R.D.
In recognition of their significant contributions to academic organization and scientific achievements, three members of the Department of Fundamental and Natural Sciences were awarded the honorary academic title “Professor of KTU.” They were Asanbaeva D.A., Tölogönöv K.T., and Kudabaev K.K.
In 2004, two departments were formed from the Department of Fundamental and Natural Sciences: the Department of Fundamental Sciences (FS) and the Department of Software Engineering of Computer Systems (SECS). The Department of Fundamental Sciences was headed by Professor Kudabaev K.K.
On July 28, 2005, Professor Asanbaeva D.A. was appointed head of the Department of Fundamental Sciences.
Since 2007, the department has been renamed the Department of Natural and Applied Sciences (DNAS).
At that time, the department employed 3 professors (Asanbaeva D.A., Dzhaparov R.D., Abdybaliev D.A.); 4 associate professors (Koichumanova Zh.M., Kulzhabaev Zh., Sarmanbetov M., Suinalieva G.M.); 3 senior lecturers (Dzhanuzakova A.A., Abdybaev K.Y., Baibagysova D.Zh.); and 2 laboratory instructors (masters): Orozakunova G.K. and Abitova G.M.
Since December 2022, the Department of Natural and Applied Sciences has been divided into two departments: the Department of Humanities and Natural Sciences and the Department of Design.
In 2023, the Department of Humanities and Natural Sciences has been headed by Acting Associate Professor Bermanova K.B.
The staff of the Department of Humanities and Natural Sciences includes: Professor Koichumanova Zh.M., Professor Akunov A.A., Acting Associate Professor Dzhanuzakova A.A., Senior Lecturer Dzhumabayeva A.A., Kadieva O.A., Ibraimova B.M., Shakeev M.A., Makeshov B.K., and Belekova G.Sh.
