Development of transport services concept for Kara-Balta city

     Based on the results of the work, recommendations will be given on the geometric characteristics of the street-roas network, on increasing the capacity of roads, on the types of regulation at intersection points, on the introduction of traffic light regulation modes and the calculation of their modes of operation for traffic management, on the organization of public transport routes, on the development of infrastructure to ensure the movement of pedestrians and cyclists, on the introduction of priority in the movement of fixed-route vehicles, according to the speed regime of vehicles on separate sections of roads or in different zones, according to the arrangement of automatic means of photo and video recording of traffic violations in the Republic of Kyrgyzstan.

     During the project, the necessary elements will be digitized and simulation modeling of local transport hubs will be proposed with the development of solutions to improve traffic management.

As part of the "Development of a Transport Service Concept for Kara-Balta" project, staff and students are conducting primary field research in Kara-Balta. The data from this research is an important part of the initial traffic modeling process. The following work has been completed to date:

• Video recordings of key intersections and sections were conducted to analyze traffic volumes. This resulted in approximately 130 hours of video recording, comprising 1 terabyte of data.
• Passenger flow calculations were conducted on intracity (No. 2, No. 3, No. 5, No. 7, No. 8, No. 9) and intercity (No. 306, No. 339, No. 374) minibuses from 8:00 AM to 6:00 PM.
• The video data is being processed by staff and students from KSTU named after I. Razzakov and its branch in Kara-Balta.
• To conduct the survey, 6 employees of KSTU (T.Y.Matkerimov, A.Sh.Altybaev, A.Sh.Rysbekov, A.B.Chopoev, A.O.Myrzalieva, A.T.Tatanova) and 1 employee of the branch (A.Kalchoroev), also 10 students of KSTU (group TTP-22 - Zhumaliev N.A., Bazarbaev A.B., Aibekov S.A., group TTP-23 - Rabaev D.K., Orozobek uulu K., Talantbek uulu M., Kadyrakunov B.K., Akhunzhanov D.T., Eshimkanov A.R., Akylbekov N.A.) and 2 students of the branch (group UTS-21 - Tkachev I., Melnikov A.A.) worked for 5 days (16-18.05.2025 and 21-22.05.2025) in Kara-Balta with accommodation in hotels and meals at own expense.
