History of the department

The "Polygraphy" Department was established by Rector's Order No. 96 dated November 13, 2006, based on the decision of the Academic Council of I. Razzakov KSTU, on the basis of the "Teknik" Publishing Center.

The founder of the "Polygraphy" Department, which is the only such department in the entire republic, is Kurmanaliev Karypbek Kurmanalievich (1949-2015).

Biography of Kurmanaliev K.K.

In 1972, he graduated from the Mechanics and Mathematics Faculty of the Kyrgyz State University with the qualification "Mathematics. Teacher of Mathematics."

In 1977, he completed his postgraduate studies at the Institute of Automation of the Academy of Sciences of the Kyrgyz Republic.

In 1985 and 1987, he completed 6-month advanced training courses at the Faculty of Advanced Training of Novosibirsk State University in theoretical mechanics.

In 1989, he defended his Candidate of Sciences (PhD) dissertation in specialty 01.02.04 "Mechanics of Deformable Solids."

In 1990, he received the academic title of Associate Professor in the Department of Mechanics. He worked as Acting Head of the Department of Theoretical Mechanics, Deputy Dean, Dean for Work with International Students, Head of the Translation Department at KTU.

From 1995 — Director of the KTU Publishing Center, and from June 1, 1999 — Director of the "Teknik" Publishing Center.

He was a member of the editorial board for technical and natural sciences of the National Commission on the State Language under the President of the Kyrgyz Republic.

He was awarded a Certificate of Merit from the Ministry of Education, the honorary badge "Excellent Worker in Education of the Kyrgyz Republic," an Honorary Certificate of the Kyrgyz Republic, the Jubilee Medal "Osh-3000" of the Kyrgyz Republic, an Honorary Certificate of the Republican Council of Trade Unions, an Honorary Certificate of the National Commission on the State Language under the President of the Kyrgyz Republic, and the medal of the National Commission on the State Language under the President of the Kyrgyz Republic "Kyrgyz Tili."

He authored over 80 scientific and methodological works and 10 monographs. Among them are the first Russian-Kyrgyz technical dictionary on "Mechanics of Machines" in the republic, the Kyrgyz-English-Russian Technical Dictionary, and the Russian-Kyrgyz Machine-Building Dictionary. As a member of the editorial board for the technical direction of the National Commission on the State Language under the President of the Kyrgyz Republic, he is among the authors of 5 terminological dictionaries. As a mathematician, he wrote two reference books on elementary mathematics for university applicants: "Selected Examples and Problems in Elementary Mathematics, with Solutions" — 2006, and "Assignments in Elementary Mathematics with Solutions" — 2007.

Kurmanaliev Karypbek is the author of children's fairy tales "Magic Tales, Games," 2006. In 2008, in a fairy tale competition, two of his fairy tales were included in an almanac of children's fairy tales and published in the book "Kuban Bebek" with a print run of 10,000 copies (OJSC "Uchkun").

In 2009, he completed his main book, the textbook on theoretical mechanics "Theoretical Mechanics."

Under his guidance and with his participation, the following were published:
— "Sample Documents in Educational Institutions," 1994 and 2004.
— "Printed and Electronic Publications," 2003, 2006.
— "Terminological Educational Dictionary 'Polygraphy'," 2008.

He is the author of the idea for holding a competition for the performance of Kyrgyz songs by the Russian-speaking population of the Kyrgyz Republic. The first such competition was held nationwide in 1995 under the slogan "I Speak and Sing in Kyrgyz" within the walls of KSTU, with the participation of the republic's top leadership.

The research themes of the department are related to the works of Karypbek Kurmanaliev:
— "Technological Problems of Wave Dynamics in Rods";
— "Propagation of Non-Stationary Waves in Inhomogeneous Media";
— "Key Issues in Teaching Natural and Technical Sciences in the Kyrgyz Language";
— "University Textbooks: Typology, Standardization, Computerization (Electronic Book)."

From 2015 to 2018, the department was headed by Professor of KSTU, Candidate of Technical Sciences, Dzhumagulov Sagynbek Dzhumagulovich. He currently works at the department as a professor.

From 2018 to 2020, the head of the department was Associate Professor, Candidate of Technical Sciences, Razzakov Meder Imatbekovich.

From 2020 to 2024, the acting head of the department was Sadykova Erkingul Akhmetovna.

Since September 2024, the head of the department has been Associate Professor, Candidate of Technical Sciences, Baigaziev Mirbek Sagymbaevich.
