Educational activities
The Institute's departments carry out the educational process in line with licenses and curricula developed in line with the State Educational Standards of Higher Professional Education and model curricula approved by the Educational and Methodological Department of the Ministry of Science, Higher Education and Innovation of the Kyrgyz Republic. The Institute implements six educational programs in the bachelor's degree system (full-time education); four are part-time programs using distance learning.

Activities of the Industry Council
To effectively collaborate with representatives of industrial and professional organizations in the areas of training and implementation of core educational programs for bachelor's, master's, and PhD students, the Technological Institute established an Industry Council.
The Industry Council for Food and Light Industry Technology is an advisory, expert, and coordinating body that facilitates interaction between the government, business, science, and the professional community to promote sustainable industry development; implement modern technologies; enhance product competitiveness; and ensure quality, safety, and innovation in production. Academic work
The Institute of Technology offers full-time and part-time programs with distance learning and a multi-level system for training specialists—bachelor's, master's, and PhD.
Starting in the 2024-25 academic year, the Department of Food Science and Technology will introduce dual education in the areas of 740100 "Technology and Production of Food Products from Plant Raw Materials" and 740200 "Technology and Production of Food Products of Animal Origin." Link

Methodological Work
The educational and methodological support for the educational process in the Institute's disciplines includes a set of regulatory, educational, and methodological materials necessary for the implementation of the educational program and the achievement of planned learning outcomes. The Institute's departments implement the educational process in accordance with their licenses and curricula developed based on the State Educational Standards for Higher Professional Education and model curricula. The educational process is carried out in accordance with federal state educational standards and the course curriculum. Textbooks, teaching aids, methodological recommendations for students and teachers, as well as assessment and measurement materials, are used as the primary educational and methodological materials.
To improve and coordinate educational and methodological work, as well as the operational management and oversight of the departments' methodological work, a Methodological Commission has been established. Link
The commission's work covers all aspects of educational and methodological work: program quality, teaching quality, the availability of educational and methodological resources for disciplines, monitoring the placement of electronic educational and methodological kits on the KSTU portal, and analyzing the status of internships, coursework, final qualifying work, and other related topics. Departments, in line with current trends, have created electronic libraries, training programs, and virtual labs, and are systematizing electronic databases of textbooks, reference books, and other materials.
Starting this academic year, syllabi are approved by the Chair of the Teaching and Methodology Center and the Directorate's seal. Further information can be found on the portal.

Material and technical base
The material and technical base of the institute’s educational programs complies with the requirements of the State Educational Standard of Higher Professional Education (SES HPE). Specialized laboratories equipped with modern compact technological and laboratory equipment and instruments are available to conduct all types of classes.
In 2022, under a project from the UN World Food Programme, the National Competence Center for School Meals was established. It is equipped with new innovative equipment and is used as a specialized laboratory for the Department of TVET and PNT.
The Light Industry Training Center (LITC) "Personnel Industry" was established with a grant from the Swiss Government under the GTEX textile and clothing program, as part of a project from the International Technical Center (ITC) and financial investments from KSTU named after I. Razzakov.
A microbiology laboratory is successfully operating as part of the Erasmus+ project.
Laboratory equipment was purchased for the PNT Department as part of the GIZ "Vocational Education in Central Asia" project.
"Technologist" Training and Practical Center was established (World Bank grant).
