International Cooperation of the Department of Management, 2019–2025
According to the Department of Management’s development strategy regarding international cooperation, the following activities were carried out:
- Two doctors of economics from Russian universities were hired to the department staff — Prof. G.P. Sorokina, Dr. of Economics, and Prof. L.V. Ivanenko, Dr. of Economics.
- The Department of Management currently has 16 international students.
- The department has six international university partners, including: Baltic State Technical University “VOENMEKH” named after D.F. Ustinov, Samara State Technical University, State University of Management, Eurasian National University named after N. Gumilyov, Andijan Institute of Economics and Construction, and Mykolaiv National University named after V.A. Sukhomlinsky.
- Since 2013, the department has been implementing joint educational programs with Baltic State Technical University “VOENMEKH” (St. Petersburg, Russia) under an agreement on educational, research, and technological cooperation dated March 20, 2013. Currently, 38 students are enrolled in the ISOP program in Management (profile: Production Management).
- Since 2020, faculty members have participated annually in the A.Ya. Kibanov Personnel Forum and international scientific-practical conferences in Russia. Over three years, 29 articles were published.
- On October 17, 2023, the Department of Management organized an international scientific-practical conference with Russian partner universities via video conferencing, held in Russian and English. Participants represented three partner universities: KSTU named after I. Razzakov (Kyrgyzstan), Samara State Technical University (Russia), and Mykolaiv National University named after V.A. Sukhomlinsky.
- Faculty members completed professional development courses at Baltic State Technical University “VOENMEKH” in the additional professional program “Personnel Management” (40 hours).
- Academic mobility is actively developing, with collaborations ongoing with universities in Russia, Kazakhstan, and Azerbaijan for internships and studies.
- As part of the international academic mobility program, 4th-year student Rustam Mayer from Hochschule Bochum, Germany, was enrolled for the fall semester in Management.
- Currently, nine students are studying in the spring semester at L.N. Gumilyov Eurasian National University, Astana (order №4у/99 of December 28, 2023).
- In December 2024, Associate Professor Bekturganova completed a 7-day internship at Azerbaijan State University of Economics (UNEC).
- On March 29, 2024, the 4th International Management Olympiad was organized with participation from universities in Kazakhstan, Uzbekistan, and Russia.
- The department has four joint publications in Scopus:

- 2023, France: K.P. Rifert, “Automating the formation of statistical data on the results of research activities of the university”
- 2024, UK: I.A. Atantaev, “Exploring the impact of university support on students’ entrepreneurial intentions: evidence from Kyrgyzstan”
The department’s international cooperation is most active with universities from neighboring countries (Kazakhstan, Uzbekistan) and the Russian Federation. Plans for the near future include signing an agreement with UNEC on student and faculty mobility.
During the department meeting №5 on December 12, 2023, and at the HSEB Academic Council, the state and challenges of international cooperation were discussed, and proposals were made:
- Participation in major interdisciplinary and interfaculty projects and collective grant applications.
- Addressing the weak linguistic preparedness of faculty and students by inviting foreign experts and increasing foreign language training hours.
- Continuing academic mobility programs, exchange of faculty, researchers, and students.
From November 14–19, 2023, Associate Professor A.A. Bekturganova visited UNEC for experience exchange, studying economic education practices in Azerbaijan, establishing partnerships, and learning innovative educational methods. UNEC collaborates with leading Turkish universities, offering exchange and professional development programs for students and faculty.
