Tregubov Aleksandr Vasilievich

Education and Early Career

After graduating in 1976 from the Frunze Polytechnic Institute with a specialization in 0501 “Mechanical Engineering Technology, Metal-Cutting Machines and Tools”, he was assigned to the Institute of Automation of the National Academy of Sciences of the Kyrgyz Republic (NAS KR), where he worked as an engineer and researcher in the “Impact and Impact Machines” laboratory.

From 1988, he served as a Senior Lecturer at the Department of Flexible Automated Production, Frunze Polytechnic Institute – NAS KR. In 1992, he transferred to the Department of Mechanical Engineering Technology as a Senior Lecturer and was subsequently elected Associate Professor of the same department.

From 1980 to 1984, he completed postgraduate studies at NAS KR. In 1988, he defended his Candidate of Technical Sciences dissertation on the topic: “Autonomous Mobile Drilling Units UBA-1 with Pneumohydraulic Drive” (specialty 05.05.06 “Mining Machines”). In 1995, he was awarded the academic title of Associate Professor in the Department of Mechanical Engineering Technology. In 2018, he received the title of Professor at KSTU.


Teaching Activities

At the Department of Mechanical Engineering Technology, he taught full-time and part-time students the following main disciplines:

  • Technological Processes of Mechanical Engineering Production
  • Technological Adjustment of Production Systems
  • Design and Production of Workpieces
  • Special Course: Technology and Production of Non-Metallic Materials

Between 2011 and 2019, he developed seven new courses:

  • Automation of Technological Processes in Mechanical Engineering Production
  • Design of Technological Processes for Composite Products
  • Technological Equipment, Mechanization and Automation in Production, Processing and Recycling of Materials
  • Technological Tooling
  • Technology, Equipment, and Automation of Assembly Processes
  • Design of Production Systems

From 2014 to 2018, he served as Head of the Department of Mechanical Engineering Technology.

In 2020, he transferred to the Department of Automation and Robotics as a Professor, teaching:

  • Fundamentals of Mechatronics and Robotics
  • Automation and Control Tools
  • Automation of Product Transportation and Loading
  • Automation of Quality Control

Research Activities

He served as the lead researcher on several state-funded projects under the Ministry of Education and Science of the Kyrgyz Republic:

  • Development of Multi-Loop Automatic Control Systems for Technological Processes in Mechanical and Mining Industries (2009–2011)
  • Development of Scientific Foundations for Automatic Control Systems Using Electrohydraulic Connections and Hydraulics with Discrete Tool Post Feed Regulation on Lathe Machines (2012–2014)
  • Development of Automatic Control Systems for Technological Processes of Mechanical Processing of Natural Stone and Composites (2015–2016)
  • Development of Resource-Saving Technology and Automatic System for Processing Composite Materials and Natural Stone on Equipment in Kyrgyzstan (2019–2021)

He actively participates in research with students (NIRS), supervising course projects, diploma projects, and master’s theses. He has developed laboratory stands in collaboration with the Institute of Machine Science NAS KR, OJSC Elektrotechnik, and OJSC Ala-Tash.

His research results have been repeatedly presented at international conferences, annual scientific conferences of KSTU faculty and students, and scientific-technical exhibitions. Students and postgraduate students have been awarded multiple diplomas (1st–3rd degree).

He has also participated in the development of State Standards and curricula of the Ministry of Education and Science of the Kyrgyz Republic for Bachelor’s and Master’s programs in 650100 “Materials Science and Material Technology” and 650300 “Mechanical Engineering”.


Research Interests

His main research interests are focused on:

  • Development of automated machinery and technology in stone extraction and processing
  • Drilling rigs for geological exploration and survey work

He is the author of 96 scientific works and 38 methodological publications.
